Diocese of Hsinchu Welcomes You
Hsinchu Diocese welcomes you to join the 2025 Migrants and Immigrants Gathering in Taiwan

Welcome Message

Peace to you, beloved brothers and sisters in Christ!

We have joyful news to share: The Chinese Regional Bishops’ Conference of the Catholic Church in Taiwan will hold a special event in this Jubilee Year of Hope, dedicated to the diligent, vibrant, and passionate migrant workers and immigrants in Taiwan. The National Gathering for Migrants and Immigrants in Taiwan – with the theme, “With Love and Gratitude, Journeying Together in Hope “, will be hosted by the Hsinchu Diocese.

This event includes a series of activities such as a holding a survey for migrant workers, seminars, and presentations of findings, aimed at offering policy recommendations to the society and the government on issues affecting migrant workers. The highlight will be the National Gathering on September 21 at the Taoyuan Arena, featuring a Thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration, personal testimonies, multicultural performances, a cultural bazaar, and labor rights education. We warmly invite all our migrant and immigrant friends to participate, and extend a heartfelt welcome to bishops from Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand, as well as local government officials, religious leaders, and other honored guests who will be joining and supporting the event.

As Pope Francis invited us through the theme of his 2025 Lenten message to reflect on what it means to “Journey Together in Hope,” we are reminded of the story in the Book of Exodus. Even today, many of our brothers and sisters are forced to flee hardship in search of a better life for themselves and their loved ones. In reality, the large community of migrant workers and immigrants in Taiwan has become an essential partner of the local Church and a rich, diverse resource and strength for Taiwanese society. They are our fellow pilgrims on this journey of hope. Helping them to integrate, thrive, and have their human rights protected is a mission we are called to take up wholeheartedly.

We look forward to seeing you at the National Gathering for Migrants and Immigrants in Taiwan! Please keep this event in your prayers, that it may be successful and fulfilling. May our merciful God bless us with protection of body, mind, and spirit throughout the preparations and on the day of the event. May we walk more closely and work hand in hand with our migrant and immigrant brothers and sisters in the Lord, bearing witness for Christ. Amen!
